The 10 mm version of the Sphinx 3000 was only produced for a few years and only as special order. I waited over half a year for mine.

Quickload is as good as internal ballistic software gets, but still not very useful for handgun rounds. For rifle rounds the simulation is ridiculously accurate.

9 mm

Ideally 10 mm would be my only handgun cartridge because ballistically it's perfect. But since it's not exactly cheap and plentiful (although my Dillon 650 helps A LOT), I'll back it up with the most common service pistol cartridge in the world - just in case.

You should ask Starline, I'm pretty sure their 10 mm and 10 mm magnum come from the same line and only differ in trimming and headstamp.
If you want really tough 10 mm brass, look for old stock or once fired norma. I thought I broke my press when I first push-through sized a norma case.

I wish the 10mm got more coverage as well.

But, if I lived in one of the big markets (CA, NY, etc) as far as population count, I would probably have 45's instead of 10's.  Magazine capacity limits in those places, as well as threats to ammo supply, make the 45 a very attractive alternative.
I don't get this reasoning. The legal limit doesn't go away by chosing a cartridge that inherently limits magazine capacity through its size. I'd take ten rounds of 10 mm over ten rounds of .45 any day. Whether or not the 10 mm magazine could hold more without a legal limit isn't a factor.

Well...darn! I invited the MFG to this thread and hopefully they show up. It looks kind of like a Delta but a little better. IMO that barrel gap needs to tighten up for us 10mm guys.
Keep in mind that the distance from cartridge base to top of the extractor groove is a good bit larger on 10 mm compared to the 9x19 mm case. My guess is that the same throat would mean full support with a 10 mm. And the solid part of the case heads extends a bit beyond that.

The P40/P45 barrels are 108 mm/4.25" long.

Here's a pic of the 9 mm chamber.

Grand Power is introducing a 10 mm version. Made in Slovakia, they feature a rotating barrel which helps soften recoil. The name is tacky, but reportedly they're pretty well designed/made. STI imported a batch of 9mm as "GP 6", so maybe they're the ones to ask for a US import.

My 1911 buddies are ragging on me because I'm not buy a 45acp. Lol. They just don't get it.
Have you let them blow things up with 135 gr HPs? That always puts a smile on people's faces.

When it first came-out, Sunny Crokett and his BrenTen was my motivation to look into the 10mm
I'm a mid-80's, early 90's kid, so I only got to see reruns of MV. It was actually Vtlor's announcement of the Bren Ten revival that got me interested, and when they failed to deliver I looked for other full size, all steel pistols. The availability of a 10 made me choose the Sphinx 3000 over a SIG X-Five, and I decided to buy once, cry once just in time for the last iteration of the 3000 series before they discontinued it for the small frame SDP. Lucky me.

Anyways, you US-based owners of handsome 10 mms should offer internet gun celebrities a review of your prized possessions. More exposure to awesome 10 mms = more 10 mm fans.

I was just lurking M4carbine.net and in a thread about do-it-all handguns the 10mm was mentioned every other post. I don't remember 10 mm being so well-known, and I think I have to blame a certain 10 mm fan who calls himself Hickok45 for that. The man has almost a million followers who see him enjoying 10 mm, and what better motivation is there to want something other than seeing it? Remember how .44 mag became the big bore revolver round of choice? It wasn't some gun rag praising its virtues, it was Dirty Harry. Millions saw the movie and thought "damn, that's cool! I want one, too!". Today kids and young adults see Hickock45 and have the same thoughts about the guns he shoots and talks about in his videos.
If I were still living in the US I'd give my Sphinx and a crate of ammo to Hickok for an extensive video review, I bet that would result in thousands more 10 mm being sold.
