Factory 10mm ammo / 10mm Golden Saber?
July 03 2015 03:23:11 AM MDT
Did Remington ever make the 10mm in the Golden Saber load?  I always liked this load in .38/.357 and .45, and I always heard good things about the Golden Saber in forty.

Thanks for all the advice. I think with my budget I will go with a Mossberg 500. As much as I want an Ithaca  37 riot gun, I never seem to find any near me and when I do they are very expensive new-more than 870s. Though sometimes I see LE trade in Model 37s for cheap, I may just wait and pick one of those up.

Shotguns / Defensive Pump Advice
July 27 2014 03:39:37 AM MDT
I have been thinking of getting a good pump riot gun for home defense. While I would love to get an Ithaca 37, my price range limits me to the Mossberg 500 or a Remington 870.  While I have fired both as a kid , and they both seem good as field guns, I was wondering what might be better for self defense. I am leaning more towards the 500, but some say the plastic trigger group make it a fragile design. Any advice?

I agree. I am a member of several forums, some good and some not so good. I love the simplicity and no BS style of 10mm-Firearms.

10mm semi-auto handguns / Gen 3 Glock
March 20 2014 02:55:38 AM MDT
I just bought my Glock 20 and I am already wanting a 29 to go along with it. I would like to buy new and stick with Gen3, but it may take a while to save up for one. Any ideas on how much longer the Gen3 Glocks will be made?

Factory 10mm ammo / Re: Old Federal 180gr Hydra-Shoks

I just bought some the other day at Academy. While they seem weak by 10mm standards, they seem like a great home defense round.

Reloading 10mm ammo / Re: Frist Step Into Handloading

Thanks for all the info fellas. I just bought the newest edition of the ABCs Of Reloading, looks like a new author but great information for a novice like me. I will definitely look into that turret press.  Seems faster than a single stage while still being simple. As a new guy I do not want to move to progressive presses just now. I have always wanted to get into reloading, and now I can't wait to start.

Handguns / Re: smallest 45 acp with more than 2 rounds?

Might not be the smallest, but I would think a Glock 36 would be the best of the small .45s, or maybe the old S&W CS45.

Big fan. Always wanted one. The best feeling pistol I have ever held. Too bad they got so expensive.

I have been debating on either a single stage or turret press. I cannot spend to much, so cost is a bit of an issue. On the other hand I want to be able to make a good amount of reloads for low-cost target shooting, rather than making precision hunting or carry loads. I leave those roles for high end factory ammo.

Thanks. I will go with The ABC's and Lyman manual first. Then decide on the gear.

Many thanks. It is great to see there is such support for the 10mm. Being a long time .357/.38  revolver guy, I will always believe the 10mm is the only auto round that offers the same versatility.

Reloading 10mm ammo / Frist Step Into Handloading

With 10mm being a little pricey, I have been thinking of getting into reloading. Figured I would get a good book or manual first. I know Lyman is the oldest and most popular it seems, followed by Hornady. Are those a good start or are there better choices for beginners?

I like the idea of having different power levels. Those subsonic, FBI loads are basically a .40 and seem ideal for urban home defense or taking a CC course. To me it is like shooting .38+P out of a .357, bascially two guns for the price of one.

Greetings from Baton Rouge. Just bought my first 10mm, a Glock 20. The Shadow told me about this forum on my local shooting forum; very happy to have found it.  I like to go out backpacking and fishing from time to time and 10mm seemed suited for that more than the 9/40/45. Always used a .357 Magnum in the past and I got to say the 10 is only auto round that matches the versatility of the .357/.38.
