Miscellaneous 10mm Firearms / Re: Hipoint 1095TS

I gave the 1095 a good cleaning as barrel was filthy (blow back design and Hi Point must have run some test rounds thru it) and give the trigger assembly a good shot of PB BLASTER SILICONE spray as this made night/day difference in smoothing out trigger.

How can Ruger bang out like three 10mm's and Springfield can't deliver an XD? Makes no sense!

Better yet, why can't CZ come out with one on a "97 frame?

My Hi Point 1095 was $363 out the door, only 1 range trip and have been very happy with it. I had 1 ftf but think it was due to a light load not wanting to push a plated bullet past the 1,250 fps range. 1 downside to it, being blowback design it's a filthy animal keep a bore snake handy.

Safety glasses, yes mine have "readers" and help these 55+ year old eyes examine brass better but do not wear hearing protection.

Yardbird, the 180 grain loading Max is shown as 9.5 grains @ 1287 fps... Some have gone higher but they run extra strength recoil springs.

Plenty load data here http://10mm-firearms.com/reloading-10mm-ammo/10mm-load-data-collection/

I guess I should clarify that it will be testing in the Hi-Point 1095 carbine only, kind of looking for start/max for 10mm. The load data you have is outstanding thanks.

I've got a couple of boxes of these to play around with but can't find any published data for Longshot and 165gr . Lots of 40s&w loads (hottest has been 9.3 gr) so I'm wondering if this is a good place to start?
I'll be using stock G-20 and a 1095 carbine, I use Blue Dot/800x and CFE Pistol in10mm for loadings so any help would be welcomed.

125 grain cast HP doing 1037 fps in a 380acp :o HOLY Batcrap Batman! Hope you and the little Ruger are ok.

Stock G-20 gen4 next zip code but if you think 10mm is bad try 380acp out of a Walther PPK/S they fly straight for about 10 feet before hitting the deck and going into Neverland.

Miscellaneous 10mm Firearms / Re: HiPoint 10mm CARBINE

I never had any desire for anything Hi Point until I saw this and bought 1 last week. It seems solid but clunky and the reviews on it are positive. 1 major downside are it ships with 1 10rd mag and the website is sold out and e-mail notification when back in stock, I guess H.P.is doing well with it. I wanted to get to my outdoor range today but it's heavy rain and turning into mix later today, come on Mother Nature it's April 7th :o :o :o so I'll reload instead. I will post when I get back from the range.

Common sense stick with 9mm and give them good hollow point ammo, but Libs in Pentagon and D.C. would go ape s^&% over this.
10mm , really???  FBI couldn't handle it.
FN has their new 45acp, to big for 1/2 the troops?

Here's the scary thought, (I deal with US Navy both retired & active duty) and MANY have not fired small arms since boot camp, doubt they could hit a target with a22lr.

Conclusion, more gross waste of tax payer $$$ and nothing to help our Armed Services >:D

M&P, CZ, XDm and even Walther since I like the grip.

A-MEN, A-MEN, A -MEN & A-MEN, I beat them up as well especially CZ & XD, need to start on Walther.

General Discussion / Re: popularity growing?
February 20 2014 10:56:51 PM MST
I've been wanting a 10mm for several years now and since the Mrs. and I are riding our bikes down the trails of the Great Dismal Swamp in both Va. & N.C I wanted something extra, 9mm & 45acp work fine against 2 legged critters but with spring around the corner black bears with cubs are out. Now you folks out west are laughing as your bears are much bigger, but a sow with cubs is still a  bear with an attitude. 16rds of 10mm and two 15 rd mags are cheap health insurance.

ps 10mm is NOT in the Obamacare  plan :o
