Has anyone done a ballistic gel test? I purchased some and want to know your opinions. Thanks

I got the 20 back from Glock it turned out the magazine release was worn. Have fired some Underwood and HPR through it with no FTF or mag drops. Seems to work like it should now. However I will do a lot more shooting of it before I trust it again. I am perfectly happy with my 29 gen 4. It fires everything flawlessly. Besides its a whole lot easier to conceal.  The 29 has become my favorite pistol.

I don't know about the price gouging. Two days before I ordered from them Able had Armscor for 22.96 a box so I ordered 12. Then I got the email CTD had it for $19.19 so I ordered 20 from them. Both are due at my house tomorrow. So CTD seems to ship faster.

Factory 10mm ammo / Armscor and American Quality Ammo
June 04 2014 12:44:14 AM MDT
Cheaper than Dirt has this ammo in, Armscor is $19.19 per 50. The American Quality is $119.50 per 250. Cheap target loads for those who would like to shoot them, I bought some just for punching holes in paper, definitely prefer Underwood stuff, but this price is pretty good.

I have let quite a few veteran shooter's shoot my G20, I know it isn't me. It has happened to everyone. At first I thought as what every one is saying. Maybe I was hitting the mag release.  I assure you that is not the case. I also have a G29 gen 4 and that has never happened. Very reliable little gun. Fires everything I run through it. I keep that as my carry piece and home defense as I know it is going to work.

I was thinking of having the mag release changed. Glockmeister checked it and said it looks fine. However they didn't have a replacement if I wanted one. I ordered some 165 gr HPR TMJ which is published at 1290 fps so a little slower than the Underwood. See if that is the problem. It is the stock recoil spring. Glockstore has stainless steel and tungsten gen 4 replacements with stock 17lb as the only weight option. Think that would improve anything?

10mm semi-auto handguns / Re: Glock 20 Gen 4 FTF's

www.glockstore.com has dedicated gen 4 dual recoil springs, however for higher power ones they are under the competition ones but only offered in the little Glocks 29/30/36

For awhile my gen 4 caused me issues then they seemed to go away one I started shooting Underwood 165 TMJ as my practice round, now it seems to drop the magazines while shooting, when I fire a lower powered round it does not seem to happen. It happens to other people shooting the gun also. Is it flexing to much? My recoil spring about done? I bought the gun slightly used from Cabelas a few months ago, it's reliability I am unsure of now. I also have a g29 gen 4 and love it. Zero probs. It eats weak .40 target loads and change barrels and fires all the full power Underwood I give it. Ideas please.

I have some Underwood 155 gr XTP so I staggered the mags with some of those mixed in, I have seen other tests and the 135 gr penetrates almost a foot with 4 layers of denim.  I am sure I will never need it but over penetration is an issue where I live. I am sure what I have will be plenty. Wouldn't mind having some Underwood Gold Dots. They got 180 gr today and plan to load them next week. I have some Buffalo Boar 180 gr so I am sure it's the same basically.

I had issues with my gen 4 also. I bought a Corbon Sprinco RMS which I had more problems with FTF than the stock set up. I know it shouldn't have a break in period, however I believe it does. I had issues with Underwood 180gr TMJ, now I use the 165 gr from them with 0 FTF. I have put over 1000 through it now. I have a couple boxes of 135 and 155 also however I have not fired any. I will so I can make sure they work. I also got a 29 gen 4. Have had 0 issues with that one. Probably my favorite pistol now. Very accurate and concealable. If you try is Sprinco I would try the standard one. I am thinking about trying it again in the std form. They do seem to reduce the recoil and easier on the frame.

I don't have the info on the ammo I had trouble with. One particular lot number I had significantly more FTF of Underwood 180 TMJ. Still had a few with the other lot number. I ordered a Sprinco Cor-Bon  recoil system, it does significantly reduce felt recoil however I had more FTF. So I switched to 165 TMJ from Underwood, no FTF with stock recoil spring however many with the Sprico. So I increased the mag springs from Wolf. Helped a little. I sent the Spinco system back. I may try it in the future but the std one not the Cor-Bon. I have ordered 30 boxes of Underwood 165 TMJ now and my 20 seems to like it. Just bought a 29 g4 2 weeks ago. It hasn't had a single problem which is good considering that is my carry gun. I may try a box or 2 of 180s in the future if he is out of 165. My defense loads I am carrying is 135 Nosler. Anyone tested this for penetration? It seems like it would be a perfect round.

It appears I had a bad batch of 180 TMJ I reported it to Kevin which lot # I had no problems with and the one I had the problem with. I shot all the ammo, he would have replaced what I hadn't shot. Have had no problems with the 165 TMJ so will continue to shoot that until he has 155 TMJ in stock. Thanks for all the help everyone.

Been to the range and 3 of the 4 boxes fed fine. No jams, last box had multiple jambs. Fired one box of 165 TMJ zero failures. Maybe it is breaking in or got a bad batch. Will definitely continue to shoot Underwood ammo.

I received two recoil springs from Spinco took my gen 4 to the range. Still having failures with the 180 TMJ. I have some 165 TMJ on order. I will see how they work. If nothing better next phase will be to call Glock or just trade it back to Cabelas and get another 20 or different 10mm altogether. So far I am pretty disappointed with Glock. It fires weak ammo great. Maybe it's the 180 Underwood.  I have spoken to Kevin if that's the problem I will just stay away from the 180. I prefer a lighter faster bullet anyways, I don't hunt with it so over penetration would be a concern.
