Gunsmithing / Re: One polishing job down

I hand-polished the feedramp in my Glock 20SF.  I started with 1500 grit wet/dry sandpaper, went to 2500 grit, and finished off with a mirror-finish, using Mother's Mag Polish.

I run the (mild) Hornady 175 grain Critical Duty rounds in my Glock 20SF with a 20 lb. flat recoil spring, and my pistol seems to really like this load/spring combo.

I recently switched from carrying the 180 grain (Sierra JHP) Buffalo Bore load, back to the 175 grain Hornady Critical Duty load in my Glock 20SF, but I still don't feel "under-gunned" with this mild load.  However, I DO keep my 2nd magazine full of the heavy Buffalo Bore load, "just in-case".

Gunsmithing / Re: which springs

I put a 20 lb. spring in my G20SF.  I use the 180 grain Buffalo Bore JHP load, and my pistol seems to like this spring weight.  The standard 17 lb. spring is too darn light for 10mm loads...Even the weaker loads.

I don't handload, so I'd go with the 180 grain Buffalo Bore JHP that I carry in my G20SF.

Dann Fassnacht, welcome to the forum!  Congrats on your 20SF and to the world of 10mm!  :D

Best regards!
I had a G20, (gen. 2) a few years ago, but found the grip to be a little too big for my hands...The 1/4" less front-to-back length of the (gen. 3) "SF" version makes a big difference in fit.

Maybe Uncle Ted should have used the 10mm in the first place, rather than the arrow.

IMO, the stock 17 lb. spring is just too light in a G20 for anything other than the weak "target" ammo.  I have a 20 lb. spring in mine (NDZ captured stainless guide rod), and it functions fine with 175 grain Hornady Critical Duty, as I'm sure it will also, with the 180 grain Buffalo Bore JHP atomic that I'll soon be tossing through the gun.

With the demise of the G20, which way should I go.

Are you saying the Glock 20 is no longer being made?
I've read that Glock is DCing the G20, but keeping it as the G20SF, which fits MY hand better than the G20.

I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who carries a Glock 20SF.

The load I carry in my Glock 20SF is the 175 grain Hornady Critical Duty...But that's only because I can't locate any 10mm Win. Silvertips anywhere near where I live.
