Anyone have one? By price it appears the starter pistol for a 10mm, have you all good luck with them. So some closing on Gunbroker close to 500 or so and made me curious, though I got my g20 one a veteran day blue label deal from gtdist for that. How does it compare to g29?
Witness Compact
Pro:
- Slim slide
- Ergonomic Grip
- DA/SA design better for some carry options (appendix)
- Good capacity
- Very nice single action trigger (with some work)
Con:
- May require work to obtain reliability
- Poor warranty support from importer
- Lack of aftermarket accessory options
- DA/SA Trigger requires work to master
Glock 29
Pro:
- Eats anything with crazy reliability
- Excellent aftermarket support
- Excellent warranty
- Lightweight for size
- Consistent Glock trigger
Con:
- Grip is blocky
- Slide is wide
- Glock Safe Action less than ideal for certain carry types
In the end, I have more Witness guns in 10mm than Glock guns in 10mm, and have far more CZ pattern guns than Glocks, but my compact 10mm is a G29.
The G29 is the 800 lb gorilla in this class ... for a reason. Is it perfect? No. But as stated, the aftermarket support is quite large. Even something as simple as the multitude of affordable magazines that are available is enough to put it on top. 10 rnd, 15 rnd, heck even a 30 rnd stick is out there.
I run a 15 rnd with a sleeve in my G29. It fits nicely in my MSR chest pack when riding my dirt bike or in a generic nylon chest holster when hunting, fishing or snowmobiling.
The Witness is a Compact, where as, the G29 is listed as a Sup-Compact
Glock always includes more Magazines in their offerings, 2 (or 3) to 1 from EAA
Tanfoglio also has the P-Carry, Poly Framed in 10mm
I go a different direction
I like Semi Compacts
Full sized Frames, with Compact Uppers
Full sized Grip, better control and full, HiCap Mags

It now has a Hogue WFG Grip (bad Cellphone Pic):

Everytime DenStinnett posts those pictures I end up on Gunbroker shopping Witness Compact 10mm. :))
Mine, with modded slide spring pocket to accept a flat wound spring. It's a beautiful thing. ;D

Cost with no real advantage over my Glock 29.
And that is not a dig on the Witness. If I had purchased a Witness P compact then I would be saying the same things on a Glock 29 thread.
I carried mine for years, not a single reliability issue.
