Title: UNDERWOOD 140 EXTREME PENETRATOR
Post by: terdog on October 21 2020 10:52:37 PM MDT
I ordered up 3 boxes for my woods large dangerous game defensive round. I had been using their hard cast through my G29 ( kkm barrel) , but having saw some vids where they actually got 1500 fps out of a stock barrel, I made the switch.

Went out in the woods around The Gold Creek lodge and on our way to Clark Fork ( and eventually 2nd Ave Pizza in Sandpoint Id), we stopped and broke out some hardware.

I brought my Dan Wesson VBOB and cracked off 5 rnds just to try it out.

In a word ... HOLYCOW! THIS STUFF IS STOUT!!!
Took a quick vid and thought that I'd share.

Absolutely, Underwood's 135gr Nosler JHP's are some good fun also. Great video by the way 😀

Kevin's stuff has been really true to form especially the 10mm.  I wish terdog would have collected the brass and posted pics of how they looked with that load.

Absolutely great 10mm ammo, will be putting Kevin's 200gr XTP's to use in 3 weeks for the deer opener  😀

That stuff did look peppy. I have fired it before in my Glocks and don't remember recoil like that.

Ya know, I did think about doin that, until AFTERWARDS! I delegated the brass pickup to my daughter as I was packing up the rest. And combine the way that 10's fling the brass with us being in the wilds, well, it would've been tough finding any!

I have been thinking about doin a test with all my 10's (G29 KKM, VBOB, VALOR) including my CMMG BANSHEE as there's some discussion about case support and bulging with high power loads.

Does anyone have experience or commentary on using this ammo (Underwood 140 Extreme Penetrator) in a Colt Delta Elite?

How would these 140 extreme pedators work on whitetail?

Morning Roguer,
Likely fine, but prefer 180 or 200gr XTP's myself

The first round out a G40 was 1701...two more were in the high 1600s...  If you stuck the case in the ground it would have looked like a mushroom...  I was really surprised they didn't blow...

Contacted Underwood and they had me send the box back...must have been a bad run as the replacements were 1600 fps and zero case expansion issues...

It is the ammo I keep on board when driving...I figure the G40 is a lot handier and concealable than one of the AK or AR pistols and should get the job done..

I'd bet that they'd go right through without blinkin an eye.

Absolutely agree with Terdog. It's totally likely Kevin's 140gr extreme pedators at 1,600 + would zip right through unless disrupted by a large bone, and still potentially keep going...however, it's some pretty cool technology Lehigh has developed.
