I picked up a SIG P365 SAS for the wife and started looking for a carry load. Wanted something fast to compensate for the short barrel. Found some Buffalo Bore 95gr on-line and ordered it. Also managed to find a box of 40 Barnes 95 TAC-XP online and ordered those. Haven't been able to find either one on-line since.. The sights are requiring a learning curve to get used to. The idea is to use both eyes, which I do anyway, and superimpose the green dot onto the target.. However managed to shoot a decent group with those Buffalo Bore rounds.. Very impressive ammo.
So I loaded some ammo with the Barnes bullets and loaded a few tenths over the hottest load Barnes listed, which wound up being 6.7grs of Power Pistol. That averaged just under 1200 fps.
If and when these bullets become available again, I'll try some more loads..
This gun, as with other SAS's I've seen, does not have a ported barrel.. Looks like SIG might have given up on the porting idea..

RDub01, great job on this...Thanks!
Ken
Happy to do it Kenk...
So, I scored some more 95gr TAC-XPs from Midsouth and loaded up some with 6.4grs AUTOCOMP, and just for kicks 6.5grs LONGSHOT.
Not knowing exactly where I was with pressure I stopped at 6.4grs., however primers and brass looked fine.. No doubt that a few tenths more would match the factory velocity.
AUTOCOMP really does well here.. Not so much with LONGSHOT.

I'm jealous of the non-ported barrel. I picked mine up last November and it has the ported barrel. The sights take some getting used to.
Im thinking of doing a very similar load with autocomp since i have a p365x macro with a compensator. Autocomp powder is designed with a large amount of gas to keep the muzzle down and the light bullet would be very fast and light recoil. The only thing is that these bullets are really long. Do you think something like 1.160 or 1.150 would work fine so i can add more powder and keep the pressure down?
Underwood offers a 147gr 9mm in +P+ using the Speer Gold Dot bullet. At 1,175 fps / Muzzle Energy (ft. lbs): 451 it?s no slouch, and carry it in my XDm 3.8 compact

Hogdon has 6.5 gr of longshot at 1.125 oal at only 27K psi. Auotcomp is at 32k psi with only 5.8gr. That buffalo bore is loaded extremely hot if they are using almost 7gr of autocomp with that long bullet at 1.11 OAL. I wonder which is actually the better powder at +p+ pressures. (AROUND 40K psi)
Hodgdon Longshot
6.5gr 1,277fps 27,900 PSI
Winchester AutoComp
5.8gr 1,329fps 32,700 PSI
Underwood 147gr +P+ is also very manageable recoil wise.plus the Buffalo Bore looks to be twice the cost

Wow... That Underwood round is impressive. They have revolutionized the 9mm round. I'll have to find some.
