Title: Ruger buys Marlin
Post by: Cherokeetracker on October 01 2020 05:36:05 PM MDT
Ruger paid 3 million I heard, and is moving the machinery to one of their plants. Hopefully this will mean good quality lever guns, in the not too distant future.
I would like to see a Trapper model in a 327 caliber and a 41 mag too. I realize that Henry makes some smaller calibers and these 2 are readily available. But not in a Trapper model, and certainly not in a side loading port.
Hmmmm what can be done about the safeties that are on the newer models?  I still like a half cock safety, on my older Winchester.
  Lever guns are fun.

The $$ amount probably had a type O.  The reported sale of the Marlin assets was $30 million.

Glad to hear that Marlin will probably be in good hands.  Love my 45-70 lever action guild gun!
It's a blast (see what I did there?)!

Hopefully they'll make some interesting variations of Marlin leverguns.

I'd love a trapper sized 1894 in .44 Magnum with good synthetic stocks.  Extra credit for ghost ring sights and a scout rail for scope or RDS.

I'd also like to see a return of the Model 39 in .22lr just because.

Yeah
An 1894 in .327fm would be great
Also, I'd like them to bring back the 39M
The Straight Stock Mountie
Doesn't have to be a "Take-down"
I have a JM 39M, but Marlin 2.0 needs to knock Henry down a notch or two, in the Rimfire game

Henry now is making all calibers with the side gate. They make carbines in the 327 plus a,my other calibers. I hope Ruger can make it work but honestly I go Henry all the way. I own a bunch they all shoot lights out and re reliable and Made in America.

Yes Ruger bought Marlin and raised the prices on the Marlin 1895 45/70 to where no one can afford one.

Would love one, but 12 or 13, what were they running before?

Here the Marlin 45/70 Guide Gun was very popular but now Ruger 1895 has priced them well above what most can afford.

Once production meets demands, retail prices will start to drop. Ruger Marlins MSRP on those is 1239-1479 depending on specific model. The local Fin Feather Fur stores here in northern Ohio typically discounts by $300 for that 1239-1479 price range, so we'll see once they start to become available.
