Title: My 1st 10mm & 1911
Post by: Lyle_Savant on June 30 2020 09:50:53 PM MDT
I'm new to the group; thanks for the add. The good Lord blessed me with something I've been wanting.   A deal on a Kimber 10mm 1911, that I couldn't pass up.

I was concerned about recoil, but so glad the weight carries it.  I'm looking forward to Boar Busting with it!

Psalm 37:4 "Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart."

Howdy, from Texas.  Well, that didn't take long to get "boared".  IMO, the 10mm reputation as having the recoil  of a planet destroyer is overrated.

Such irreverence :-) I love the caliber its uses on small to medium targets (man sized 2 and 4 legged) is hard to dispute, but some would take one on a trip to Jurassic park to take on T-Rex.

Recoil is nothing to sneeze at but it it's all in the gun and the hands of the shooter

Welcome aboard Lyle!  I had to do a double take as I have a good friend named Lyle who does custom installations of home automation using Savant systems.  For a moment I thought he had come to the light side.

This is a nice forum. I am also new here. I collect 10MM handguns. My favorite shooters are S&W 3rd Gen and the Kimber Camp Guard 10. 8)

Welcome and a hearty congratulations on the 1911 in 10. I've only fired one Kimber, a commander style in 45 as I recall. It did full justice to the platform and was a pleasure. So, I've got this feeling you did real good and more than a feeling you're going to just love the round.
