Title: Suppressor for CMMG Banshee MK10 10mm?
Post by: justsomedude on June 09 2020 07:53:24 AM MDT
I'm eagerly awaiting the arrival of my new CMMG MK10 10mm, and already looking at suppressor options. I've never owned a suppressor before, so this is all new to me.

I am looking for basic/intro 101 type information, and anything else that can get me started in the right direction.

From my first searches it seems like there aren't a lot of 10mm specific silencers... so should I be looking at .45 and .40SW options?

FWIW, the Banshee's 8" barrel is threaded 578x28.

These are all 10mm rated:

You are correct that there are no 10mm/40 cal specific models on the market.  If that is what you gotta have, then you should shop for a lathe and a mill and plan to Form 1 your own build.  8)

I don't know a lot about suppressors, but this might be an option, plus you could use it on
multiple weapons

Thanks for the responses everyone. I've been watching a million videos to try and get educated up on silencers the last 24 hours.

It looks like the SilencerCo Osprey 45 works with quiet a few different platforms, and also supports 10mm.

22Plinkster also used it on his 10mm Banshee and got some impressive results...

This might be the way I go for a first suppressor.

Don't do the Osprey. I have one. It's ok on a pistol but it definitely has drawbacks.

For one it looks goofy on a rifle due to it's offset style. Second it's about to have to go back to SiCo for the second replacement of the ratcheting mechanism that allows you to clock it properly when installed. I had to use channel locks to get it off my gun last time.
