Hello
Finally broke down and got a Vortex Viper and a DPP titanium mount for the Gen3 G20. I've realized my aging eyes had trouble with the dual focal plane iron sights for some time. I have some 'computer' glasses that focus out farther than typical readers do and those are what I use for bench shooting, but in the real world, I'm not going to have those on.
The first thing I noticed about this setup is presentation has to be perfect, if drawing at speed is important. Otherwise you'll be 'searching' for the dot too long, but once this is nailed down the sight functions very well. You just concentrate on the target, put the dot on it and fire.
When initially sighting in I started out with a couple factory loads, but then I got curious about how all the ones I had on the shelf would shoot. So here is how that turned out at 25 yards, off of a Caldwell Pistol Rest. No need for any kind of corrective eye ware anymore.
Circles are 4" Temp about 58°F
Shot a couple handloads as well.

I didn't drag the chronograph out this time, but that data is in the Factory Pull Downs section
Not sure why the Win 180 FMJ shot like that...
The camera doesn't show the dot as it actually looks like in real life.
Interesting RDub01, you should post a pic if the sights on the G-20-SF
Some pics added.. I'll take a side shot tomorrow.
Very nice!
Those are great Pics. I bought a few red dots over the past years. They were all less than satisfactory. I received a coupon for $100 dollars to try a new Vortex Venom. The Venom was mounted on an XDM Mdl 4.5 SPFLD. It is an amazing red dot. Thanks for your post.
Shadow was kind enough to post a video I was trying to post here..
I'ts me shooting some 10mm range ammo at a 12" AR500 gong at 110 yards.
Here is the gong after five attempts; four hits.

Really liking this sight... Too much fun.
Thank you RDub01 for the shared video.

Descided to move the video here for better understanding and tying the story together...
Cool thanks!
