I'm considering a Sig P220 Elite 10mm that's in my friends shop. They advertise at $1299, but he said I can have it for $1100. Should i do it?

I'm sorry, I forgot my other thread I started. This is basically asking how the 220 Elite shoots.

I own one in SA/DA and also a G20/3
Compared to the glock, it's heavy at 44oz ( with empty mag ) but the weight does help handle the recoil with the hot loads..
My has use about 10 types of ammo without any issues at all. ( including Buff Bore )
One thing is the chamber is tight compared to the G20... cases are still in great shape for reloading after fired.
The G20 commonly comes in at expanded to about .432 ( warm to hot loads ) and the Sig at .425-.427 ( IIRC )
As to accuracy... it's a tack driver.

If I were spending that money and willing to live with a gun that heavy I would get a Witness Hunter, or if barrel length were an issue, a Stock III.
I have a Stock III, and it is an amazing gun. They can be found under 900 NIB, though they are not always in stock. Seems to be a couple of shipments a year after which you can find them for a few weeks or months.

You can certainly get pistols with different specs but I doubt you can get a better one than the P220. I had mine machined for a DeltapointPro and, while I have others, this is my favorite.

If I were to pickup the P220 Elite, I would totally go with the stainless Kryptek version, that's one sweet weapon
OK that looks sweet. Good thing now a days there are way more 10mm selection of handguns out there than the time I was looking for a decent one.
When I had money I looked for the RIA 52000, had all the bells and whistles I wanted for a decent price. Problem there were none to be seen, heard of or around at the time.
So I got a Glock 40 as my Priority was the 6 inch barrel and a high cap like a 15 plus 10mm. It was available and I could afford it. Plus after market stuff a lot of stuff out there. My only disappointment was no manual safety as some one said that's old schoolery thinking. But since my criteria was hunting and trail and out doors stuff and in house bear defense at the old farmstead, I could live with my compromise. And it was AVAILABLE and if I didn't get it some thing would come around and steal my money...which it did so I was glad I got a 10mm that covers all the bases I got it for since I don't got much money any more.
Listen to other's people's advice on here to help your decision for what you want to use it for. It helped me here when I was looking for a good 10mm for my certain criteria. As I did the only could get one 10mm thinking, the first one I got was to cover what I wanted it for. To bad reality came along and matched that thinking for me... Just glad I got the one I wanted and needed when I could.
Just get what ya want is my simple advice if you just want a good solid shooter.
