Just saw one at gun store for the first time - it was a great deal but I am anxious to know what others think about this product??
Thanks,
Pat
I like mine. It shoots real well and very accurate. I like it a lot better than the Glock 20 I had.
Like mine also. For me, it has a good balance and its weight compared to my 1006 or Witness match is easier on my 78 yr old shoulders. Accurate and seems to like Blue Dot better. Since it is for target shooting only, the "cut-out " slide doesn't bother me and it helps with the weight.
Not a big fan. Like my Glock 20 much better.
If it wasn't for the grip safety I would like the XDm much better overall but still not better than my Glocks. When shooting my nuclear handloads (180gr bullets at 1425fps/811ft-lbs as measured from my 5.25" XDm barrel) it likes to pinch the web of my hand between my thumb and first finger. That's annoying! But it's not so bad with mild to medium loads (180gr bullets under 1200fps) because of not needing as tight a grip on the gun. On a positive note the XDm barrel chamber support handles all my different nuclear handloads, which my Glock 20 barrel does not (I have a handful of blown out cases to prove that ;D ).
Otherwise the XDm 5.25" seems nicely built overall with a better fit and finish than my Glocks. The XDm also operates more smoothly than my Glocks. I hate fiber optic sights but that's just me and obviously they can be swapped out. But because of the nuclear loads I like to shoot, the Glock is far more comfortable to shoot with it's wider grip and no grip safety to pinch my hand. Of course with the Glock I'm forced to buy an aftermarket barrel with better chamber support than the stock barrel to handle my nuclear loads.
If you never shoot any 10mm ammo hotter than the Winchester Silvertip 175gr load (1250fps from my XDm 5.25") then you might do okay with the Springfield.
In the following link you can see the velocities I've posted from my XDm 5.25" from numerous factory loads.

Accuracy between my XDm and Glock is basically equal in my experience.
