Title: Underwood’s 165gr bonded reliability testing for carry
Post by: Kenk on July 20 2019 01:11:36 PM MDT
6 weeks and 160 rd's later, I've determined the RIA - FS HC 10mm will function reliability with Underwood's 165gr bonded ammo. I have always run 200 rd's minimum for carry ammo, but have decided 160 rd's without any hiccups was ample, plus it gets kind of costly : )

It's interesting how the results can change dramatically, depending on the firearm and ammo. I've done similar testing with the G30 and the XDm 4.5 9mm. After 200 + rd's of Ranger T 124gr + P, I'm comfortable with that ammo in the XDm. As for the G30, I had some ejection issues on and off with the Ranger T 230gr + P, and have decided to stick with the tried and true HST 230gr + P Tactual, which seems to never have issues, Lol. The awesome thing with the T's and the HST, is they are way more economical coming in boxes of 50...way cheaper testing  to be sure.

Excellent! I will give these a try, I currently carry the Underwood 200gr XTP JHP; 694 ft/lb @ 1250 (according to the literature.)  And have not had any issues but it is always good to have a secondary.

Evening Bunny, you may want to also consider UW's bonded 165 if they function properly

I ordered 160 rounds to test, hopefully it will run as smooth as yours does Kenk.
