Cool. Does that match their 135 HP?

My labels are a little better than the blue tape  ;)

So the 135 JHP was 10.4 and this 10.2. Redline will go  :o but does that make much difference?

I have yet to Chrony these but it makes sense the Cor-Bon moves out slower with the 7.4 versus the GAS Ammo 200 with 7.8 of the same powder. Davids numbers in the chart will be a little lower than mine but it gives us something to go by.

Alliant data for 200 grain I have shows 7.7 grains of PP @ 1145 fps

I got 1143 FPS out of that GAS Ammo at 7.8

That's where the velocity should be for that GAS based on Alliant's data.

There was probably more room for more powder with the Pow'RBall, but if you look at the diameter it is 0.4025" on the bullet's base...not sure that that would raise the pressure that much, Alliant actually shows a 135 grain with 10.6 of PP @ 1,530 fps 35,600 psi.  However the 10.2 grain may have been shy by 0.2 of a grain to equal 10.4 of the other loadings.

LOL :D

No  :o this time.  A 135gr copper jacketed lead 10mm load at 1400fps with PowerPistol isn't pushing any boundaries to begin with.  Therefore a range of 10.2-10.4 grains of PowerPistol isn't gonna make any difference from a safety aspect.

Even with DRSJR1969 hitting a high of 1455fps, no big deal in that bullet weight with that type of bullet.

What I find interesting is that DRSJR averaged 1442 out of the Powerball and only 1375 out of the standard Corbon 135 grain JHP.

The Pow'R Ball bullet measured Length 0.5990"/Dia. 0.4025": 135gr. Pow'R Ball
The Nosler 135 JHP measured Length 0.4935"/Dia. 0.4010": 135gr. JHP

The bullet length and dia. differences could account for some differences...???

Redline would have a field-day with all these factory variances  ??? ??? :o

That's good to know, thanks.

I was scratching my head about that too.

I'm wondering how the actual bearing surface lengths of the two 135gr bullets compare.  Going by the overall lengths of the bullets it loosely seems like the 135gr Nosler should be able to be pushed faster with equal or less pressure behind it.  But knowing the actual bearing length may tell a different story.  Is it still possible to get measurements on the actual bearing length of both 135gr bullets?

The length of the bullet that sticks into the case is what will raise pressures higher the deeper it is set inside...

Sure, but if all else is equal, so will a longer bearing surface of a bullet traveling through the barrel, compared to a shorter one.

See soon how the Cor-Bons do in gel. So far nothing excites me for the money.

Well the Chrony showed that 0.2gr's difference today. The PowRBall went 10 FPS average slower. Makes me feel pretty confident about what we are seeing!

Little higher than me on the 200's but 135's we are right there.
