I've seen posts suggesting Gen4 Glock chamber support is better than Gen3 Glock chamber support, no details though. Can anyone post a side by side comparison pic? Or at least elaborate to the extent?
Separate question; specifically Gen4 Glocks; are the G20 and G40 barrels identical regarding chamber support?
Redline, I don't have my Gen 3 anymore, but I had no issues with either my Gen 3 or Gen 4 as far as chamber support. And I fired a boatload of Underwood through each. My Gen 3 was born in 2011 by the way.
I swapped out the Gen 3 for a G40. No chamber support issues with this one either.
Good to hear!
UPDATE; I just bought a Glock G20 Gen4 and the chamber support is identical to my Gen3.
They are fine. Good luck and enjoy your Gen 4!
The Glock chamber although looser than most is good to go. I think some of the issues people experienced with case blow outs were possible due to the barrel and slide unlocking too early and increasing unsupported areas. The recoil systems being captive may not apply enough spring pressure at lock up with some. It is why I opted for non captive Wolff system and measurements showed more spring pressure at lock up than the stock captive RSA
