I'd like to add a scope to my TRP OPERATOR 10MM LONGSLIDE. Since it has the rail under frame from the factory, it looks like it will be pretty straightforward. But, I have a couple of questions.
1)I can get a mount for the under rail, or go old school and drill and tap the frame for a frame mount. Is there a significant difference or advantage to the frame mount style?
2) I'm looking at the USM model mount. Any thoughts or experience with it?

3) Any thoughts on a scope? Don't want to break the bank on it.
Thanks!

Well, I went ahead with the USM mount. Ordered 1 from Optics Planet. I'm leaning towards gettin the Simmons Prohunter 2-6x32 Handgun Scope.
Got the USM mount today. Mounted it to the TRP and threw on a cheap red dot.
With any luck, I'll get out this weekend and try it out.

I would not like that so high above the bore axis. Closer to the slide will be better allot of torque on that with the slide coming back and slamming home.
I took her out for a few mags worth the other day. Worked her out from 50 to 70 yds. Worked well considering that I just slapped her on. I get your point about the bore axis. But, the goal is to get the target with the 1st shot. ;D
I ordered a scope, but not happy with its eye relief so I'll be trying a different one.
