After I inherited a M&P9 this evening, I went to Wally world to buy some ammo basically all they had was fmj. But then saw one lonely box of these, so I bought them. Hopefully I'll get to try them out in the next day or two. Oh the gun has a 3" barrel or whatever they come with, it's a short one. I saw another post saying that the 147 was discontinued and was wondering about these. Any help would be appreciated.
I don't think the 147gr HST have been discontinued.

However, out of a short 3" barrel, I prefer the 124gr HST +P.
Thanks I'll look into the 124 +p. Never been a 9mm fan but inherited the shield from my father that recently passed so I have to keep it.

Very debatable. While both are considered outstanding "better" is an opinion.
If we were talking about a full sized duty weapon, I'd agree with you. Out of
shorter barreled 9's such as in this case 124 +p tend to perform better (my opinion).

The 147gr +p variant has been discontinued, The standard pressure 147 grain is still available. But according to some information that has been getting pushed out, Federal/ATK is taking the winchester approach to the law enforcement 50 round boxes and supply is drying up.
