Title: EAA witness match question
Post by: Onebad06vtx on March 15 2019 08:42:26 PM MDT
Im thinking about buying a witness match or a stock III in 10mm.
What are there trigger pulls from the factory?
Thanks for your time!

The trigger on my elite match is well above average for a factory handgun trigger.  But it does leave some room for improvement.  It has a bit of creep and the take up, while clean, cannot be adjusted out using the take up screw.  By the time you get the take up gone the trigger won't reset.

These creep smoothies out over time and the take up makes it feel a bit like a two stage.

So its between 3-4 lbs?
Would the stock III trigger be better?
What about barrels?
Would the stock III have a better barrel?
Im only seeing $100 difference between the two guns at my lgs.

Mine was 4.5-5 lbs out of the box.  It has settled in about 4-4.25 lbs after a couple thousand rounds.

I don't shoot for small groups super often, so I would not be able to comment on the difference between the barrels on the two guns.  My Match shoots far better than I ever will.  For $100 difference I would go with the one you like the looks of better.

Great
im thinking on going with the match, adding a coned guide rod,22# spring and a Henning straight trigger.
I would like to get the trigger in between 2 and 3 lbs.
Is that possible with out to much trouble?

I've been delighted with the trigger pulls on my Witness Match pistols, and I'm a bit of a trigger snob.  I've had two, my current 40 Match went to the range with me today and acquitted itself quite well.  Before that I had the first Witness Match  EVER imported into the country, it was the one that was sent to all the magazines for review and photographing. before EAA decided to wait a few years to import them.  It was cosmetically perfect, and a joy to shoot.  It was stolen out of my apartment by a 15-year old thug with a long criminal history, and still hasn't turned up.    >:D

I can't speak to the accuracy of either, all my Witnesses (I've owned six) were better shooters than me, and I practice a lot.
