Title: A Glock 20/9 ?
Post by: DenStinett on March 14 2019 10:18:03 PM MDT
I am a real fan of Semi Compacts
Here's my DTDC, a 10mm Witness Semi Compact DuoTone I had built:

And a CZ 75(B) Semi Compact DuoTone I put together:

Now here's a silly question:
Can a Glock 29 Upper, fit and run, on a Glock 20 Frame, by merely shortening the Dust Cover ?
Has anyone ever tried it ?

Not sure about the shortening part, but really like it : )

No, it cant work. The locking lugs are different on the 20 and 29 barrels. You'd end up with a locked up paperweight and a lot of new cuss words lol

This.  Ask me how I know.

If any of you end up in this situation, get the slide as far to the rear as you can, then use your glock tool, a punch/whatever, to remove the striker cover plate same as you would with the gun field stripped.  Remove the plate and striker assembly, which will then allow you to take the Glock 20 upper off the lower.  As long as the striker is in the gun, the geometry of things leaves you in a catch-22.  You can get the gun to go into battery so you can dry fire it for field strip, but you can't field strip without dry firing.

Here's hoping for a Glock 20X for folks you like this configuration.

Until then, I can endorse the x-grip:  https://www.midwayusa.com/product/1016672073/x-grip-magazine-adapter-glock-20-and-21-magazine-to-fit-glock-29-and-30-polymer-black  I have a couple of these on Glock 22 mags for use in my Glock 27.  They work just dandy.

Don't own either a G20 or 29 so this may be a stupid question. Would a cut down G20 barrel work in a G29 slide on a G20 frame?

Still, an interesting idea

Does it fit and lock up properly in battery? That would be the question........I never owned a G29

Nope.  They are just different.

See if you can take the locking block from the 29 and install it in the 20 frame. Then try the 29 upper.
