Title: Getting that itch to hit the range
Post by: Kenk on March 06 2019 09:01:00 PM MST
Well, 15 days out from a total left knee replacement. Getting a serious itch to hit the range 😩

Yer not alone. I have the want but the weather isn't co-operating. It's suppose to set in rain thru Thursday next week. That puts the ranch out of the question until it dries out some. My local range is 70 miles away but fortunately it's located in near solid rock. No problem there but, my nephew, the attorney, has taken on a new line of lawsuits against builders and the box stores. Guess who is his new "expert" witness? He's already got me busier than I want to be. FWIW, NEVER pay or allow one of the box stores to install anything. You can't believe the incompetence.

I made it to the range the a week or so ago. It was like 20 degrees that day. Didn't care I needed to try out my new Ruger LCR. Had our "night/inclement weather shoot for work this past Thursday. It was like 10 degrees that night. Going to go back on Friday before we get another 6-10" of snow over the weekend and try to sight in the Vortex Venom on the Glock 20 and the 300Blk pistol.

I know how you feel Ken. I had to have emergency open heart surgery about 2 1/2 yrs ago. Took awhile to recover from that.  I hope the knee replacement works out well for you. Hopefully you'll be back at the range and out in the woods in no time :)

Hey tommac,
Yea, is a painful endeavor, but will allow me to get back out in the woods. I'm an avid coyote hunter when it's not deer or turkey season, so need to keep this healing goin

Thanks guys, according to the medical professionals I'm doing awesome, as for myself, I think recovery should be faster, plus I'm really tiring of pain killers; never did care for that feeling. On a positive note, my weapons have never been so clean, Lol

Hello Ken
I live in north central MN and am anxiously awaiting our range to thaw out and it's not looking good. Been recovering from another neck surgery and am anxiously checking the long term forecast...Greg

You should check out the Stock & Barrel in Chan if your at all close, an awesome indoor range

Good afternoon Kenk. I live in Mankato. I shoot outdoors at Key City Conservation Club in Madison Lake and Henderson Sportmans Club in Henderson. Nor looking forward to the snow. I think with the rise in temps it will be that heavy wet "heart attack" snow. Whishing you a speedy recovery.
