Well, fedex finally decided that they had kept my SA long enough and graced me with delivering my TRP.
My FFL gave me a call and I was there in 20! Luckily I got off work early ;)
Took her directly to the range and ran 100 rounds threw her, 50 S&B, 50 Magtech.
She got dirty quickly, IMHO because of its "tightness". zero movement between slide and frame.
Trigger was about 4 lbs with decent action, but nowhere near the quality of my Dan Wesson's. Definitely acceptable.
Cleaning is made more difficult due to the slide spring design.
Pics to come tonight.
I really love mine it shoots lights out good. They are really tough too. Had detonation sent it back they replaced the extractor and back in business.
She's very tight at this point. My local weather needs to get better so I can get some more range time. Or I need to just do it and get out there. :P
Yours function ok? Accuracy?
So far I have had limited time with her. As you may know, the Sierra winter has been substantial this yr. My work has been crazy busy and when not working the weather wasn't good for testing.
I had a couple a FTRB after shooting 3-5 mags as she got dirty and the slide to frame clearance is so tight and needs some breakin. The accuracy is undetermined past 15 yrds.
At this point I have no reasons to doubt her ability and feel that she will end up being a great 10 mm addition to my armory.
This may help mine was tight as well even after my mishap. But I run drop or two of Amzoil 0-20W on the slide an frame it seemed to slick it up nicely and after 250 rounds everything's run really well.
Thanks Ramjet.
I definately agree with you in keeping a new 1911 well lubed. I keep all my 1911's runnin "wet'. Since i recently got a DW Valor and they prefer FP-10, thats what I'm using. I don't really think that it makes a whole lotta difference in what quality lube that we use ... just use plenty.
With our modern manufacturing abilities, buying any quality gun means tight clearances. I'm more than happy to "need" to run a few hundred rounds through my guns to get them to 'break in".
I'm starting to search for a scope and mounting system for my TRP. Having the rails looks like it will make it easy to do. Any thoughts or leads will be appreciated.
I've been thinking about getting a TRP with the RMR.
I have a Les Baer 10mm but my old eyes are starting to like red dots more!
Ditch it now, while it still runs. Get XDM 10mm.
