any one have good results with this powder? working up some loads at 5gr and 6.6 using 1911 RIA 4.5 bbl please some real input
I have had some good results. In 10mm I have only tried it with 155gr GDHP projectiles thru my 4.5" XDM -
8.3gr netted approx 1237fps
8.5gr netted approx 1274fps
9.0gr netted approx 1335fps
Worked really good in 460 Rowland using a Nosler 185gr JHP shot thru an 4" XD -
12.5gr netted 1464fps, making a 2" group @10 yards
I bought CFE Pistol when I got my 10mm thinking it was just about the right burn rate for the bore diameter. I was wrong. If there's a load in a 10mm that shoots good with CFE, I don't know what it is. Yeah, it goes bang with every trigger pull but the word accuracy isn't in the same sentence. I get reasonable results with Blue Dot but for absolute peak accuracy I find 2400 to be the ticket. !2.8 grs of 2400 under a 180 bullet gets groups of under an inch at 25 yds from an R1 Long Slide.

thanks ,shot 35 different loads with cfe starting 6.6 --7grns 165 grn hollow point higher end O.K but not great will continue trying
Have a couple decent loads with CFE Pistol, 155 XTP's from a Sig. P220,
gr. FPS ES SD
8.2 - 1236 32, 13.12
8.4 - 1265 22, 7.74
8.6 - 1282 32, 12.31
8.8 - 1311 44, 14.31
9.0 - 1329 36, 13.78
9.2 - 1360 50, 17.59
Then with Nosier 135 JHP (fired from a RI FS HC) (top 2 rounds, a lot less kick then excepted)
10.0 - 1503 - 62 - 19.3
10.2 - 1532 - 52 - 17 (707 Ft.Lbs)
I started reloading with Blue Dot, but found the flash and bang a little excessive. I tried a couple of others( Unique, WST, Bullseye) then switched to CFE Pistol. I have been very happy with the metering and the down range performance. I dont get the fps that they claim, but I am not to far off and it has shown to be very accurate in my RIA FS HC. I took my deer with it and a XTP 180gr bullet this year at @ 47 yards. Hit right where I was aiming and had complete pass through. Works for me. You mileage may vary.
