Title: Pimpin' the Hi Point
Post by: mope540 on December 29 2018 08:51:00 PM MST
This 1095 will be used as a K.I.S.S. HD/truck/ATV/RV gun...
i want it to be as light as possible...
i have no use for all of that gobbledygook dead weight on the frond end...
no need or plans to mount anything on the front...
the stock can easily be replaced if so needed (i like the FDE)...
...so most of it was removed for good.

As far as the (soon to be replaced) rear stock goes, its LOP is too short for me, and the cheek rest sits too high. The spring dampened butt pad is a nice feature, and the optional spare mag holders would be very useful. The AR adjustable stock installation kits look like they would work, but i'll most likely make a simple lightweight stock out of chrome moly tubing...maybe even a folder.

I'd like to replace the factory rear sight with a BUIS if i can find one that will work with the front sight. I have a Burris FF3 on the G40 and had considered using it, but for now (and just for fun) a Crimson Trace is mounted.

I had planned on putting some rounds through it today, but the good friend/property owner cancelled due to a bad cold. His property is overrun with groundhogs. It sure would have been fun popping off a few of those nasty critters with some 10mm.
