Title: Underwood / Flashless Powders?
Post by: 4949shooter on December 02 2018 02:32:11 AM MST
I thought Underwood had been using flashless powders?

Last night I tried 40 rounds of 155 grain XTP through the Glock 40. Even with the long barrel and slide, the 155 grain XTP exhibited a good amount of muzzle flash. In the past, I don't recall getting any muzzle flash from Underwood self defense loads.

Can anyone shed any light on this? (no pun intended)

The last two orders of UW ammo I received did not use flash suppressed powder. One was like a flame thrower. I messaged Underwood and they said they ran out of low flash powder for one batch and gave me a 10% discount on a future order. So a month later I used it and same thing. Apparently not just one batch.
