Friend came to see me today. Told me a co-worker was selling some reloading stuff, and was I interested. For some time I have been thinking it would be nice to add a smaller Dillon like a 550 or 650 to the bench next to the 1050. Something that changed calibers more quickly, etc. I had kinda given up the idea as folly since there are caliber change kits for the 1050 and it isn't really that much of a chore. About 30 minutes once you are good at it.
This guy was selling a RL550B. With 13 tool heads, 7 with stands. And caliber changes for 12 different calibers (45 ACP, 44-40, 44 magnum, 40 S&W, 10mm, 357 Sig, 38 special, 9mm, 223, 22-250 and two more I don't recall). And dies for 8 of those calibers. Large and small primer systems, 4 powder measures and a bunch of parts and tools for the Dillon. And a fist full of primer pickup tubes.
And two media jugs of 45 ACP, two of 10mm, two of 40 S&W, two of 9mm, one of 22-250, and about a half-a-bucket of 223 brass. Not all of them are full, but still at least 1k+ of each one.
And 4 lbs of 231 powder along with about 5K primers.
And a couple thousand 180 grain .400 RFN plated bullets, about 500 .400 cast lead RFN, 400 Speer 240 gr JHP for 44 magnum, a couple thousand 55 grain 223 FMJ, some 9mm FMJ, some 110 grain .308 bullets and some .355 124 grain gold dots for 357 Sig. And some 10mm American Eagle loaded ammo.
All for $800. I just gotta clear out space in the reloading room to mount the press and store the tool heads. According to my math, this is between $2000 and $3000 of just Dillon gear, not counting any of the components. It was a good deal for me, and a made a friend is likes 10mm. The seller is a retired man who feels he has enough loaded ammo on hand to last him the rest of his days. Having seen his ammo locker, I am pretty sure he is not wrong.
So, Merry Christmas to me!

wow! nice score!!
Nice score and Merry Christmas indeed!
The jug of 10mm brass was a mix of fired brass, primed brass and reloads. I got all that sorted last night. Ended up with about 200 primed brass mixed headstamp, 100 fired brass mixed headstamp, and 300 reloads.
The reloads were a mix of 180 grain Berry's plated, 165 grain Golden Saber, unknown weight JHP that appear to be XTP's, and a few WFN hard cast unknown weight. All were mixed headstamp.
The Berry's bullets I recognize from loading several thousand myself, but I will pull down and verify several. The XTP's and WFN I also have to pull at least a few and verify.
I did pull a golden saber, which is how I know the bullet weight. It was loaded in front of 11.1 grains of what almost certainly is AA#7. This load would be just over max based on current data from Accurate, and under max based on older Accurate data. I will still need to pull several more to verify the charge consistency of the loaded ammo.
Inspecting the fired brass, most primers look like light to mid-level loads. However, I did see 3-4 that were FLAT. And I mean FLAT, like my full house 300 win-mag primers look.
At this point I think I am going to follow the "safe" course and just pull these. Only 300 rounds, and while it would be funner to use one of my unloading machines, it would also ruin my day to have a blow-out. I have time to pull ammo, and I have two progressive presses now, so I might as well pull and reload and blow up my gun with my own reloads rather than someone else's.
Luckily this appears to be the only ammo that is loaded in all the brass I got, so I won't face this quandary with any of the other calibers.
Very nice hall there Sqlbullet, Merry Christmas to ya! :D
