Title: Glock 20 gen 4 / MechTech CCU question
Post by: Kenk on December 01 2018 08:34:16 AM MST
Any of you run your Glock 20 gen 4 with the MechTech CCU?, and if so, how do you like it?, also, am looking for mid priced optic ideas for this carbine
Thanks

Ken

Hey Kenk.

You probably know from my other posts about it: I love my MechTech. As I've mentioned, I bought a used G20 gen 4 and dedicated the lower to it.

As to an optic, what are you looking to do with it?

Do you need magnification?

I use a Holosun HS503GU Green circle-dot sight on mine, on a UTG slim riser mount. The circle-dot is 65 MOA circle, 3 MOA dot, and is excellent. No issues at all with the sight. Granted, I'm certainly not in the category of "hard use".

Because I like variety at the range, I also have a set of Magpul polymer BUIS on top, co-witnessed with the Holosun, and a Crimson Trace Railmaster green laser on the bottom rail.

I recommend all three.

Happy to answer any questions you might have.

Hi Keiichi,
This would be primarily for deer, coyotes, and range use, as for distance, I would say 20-60 yards. Also, whereabouts in MN are you located
Thanks

Ken

Hi Ken, you might want to take a look at one of these, https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1264788-REG/sig_sauer_sor52001_romeo5_compact_red_dot.html

I have two of them. One on my 10mm AR and one for a Just Right Carbine that hasn't run just right since I got it. The 2 MOA dot is quite useful for accurate shooting and the brightness adjustment range is great from bright sunshine to total darkness. The shake awake feature is nice, too. They did have some problems with the early ones failing, but mine have been perfect. $125 and a lifetime warranty make this one hard to beat. It can be used with a magnifier, as well.

I can confidently say that the Holosun sight would be suitable for the 20 to 60 yard range you're interested in, assuming a good zero, practice favoring precision, and good judgement.

I'm in the south Twin Cities suburbs. Feel free to send me a private message if you'd like to get in touch. I'm always happy to go to the range.
