Title: Comparing apples to apples
Post by: Rick R on September 14 2018 03:37:47 PM MDT
I obsess when I get a new toy.  It's just the way I'm wired.  :D

Out of curiosity I measured the length of my 3" GP100 from the back of the cylinder to the muzzle and got approximately 4.6".  It appears that the Glock 20 has a barrel that is 4.6"  So it looks like we have a way to test how much difference Glock's polygonal rifling and Ruger's tight cylinder gap make velocity wise.

Now I need a new chronograph...

and a Glock 20...

and lots of ammo.  8)

Yep when it comes to the revolver they don't add the cylinder length as barrel length like a semi auto...  so it will be a nice comparison to see what velocity differences considering the cylinder gap.
