I don't know much about this cartridge, but received an email from Starline that they are now making Rem .222

Hi all kind of new here
The 222 was around before the 223 and is still popular in countries where civilians can't have "Military" caliber fire arms the 223 has pretty much replaced it in the US

The triple deuce was the first commercial centerfire 22.  It was completely new design. And it is the parent/grandparent/great-grandparent of a ton of cartridges.  In fact, about any cartridge that fits a standard AR-15 5.56 bolt face is gonna be derived from the 222.
