How does that sample of powder compare to Silhouette?   It appears to be the newer AA#5 powder.  It seems to be the closest fit for the performance shown Western Powder Data is with AA#5 shows 7.5 @ 1026 with a lead bullet.
Once again thank you for your contributions to the documentations!  :D

Heya Shadow
Well, the last time I worked with Silhouette and 180gr jacketed bullets it took 8.4 grains to get to 1093 fps.  Don't think 7.5grs would get there even with a 175gr bullet..

Pretty sure the AA#5 I have is an older lot.  Haven't seen any of the 'new' yet.

That's my thinking Silhouette takes more of a powder to get there and Accurate #5 seems to be the better fit.  The older data is the same with the older formulations and also the same with the newer data.  Accurate #5 has 7.5 was a starting load for 170 grain lead and 7.8 grains with the 180 grain XTP @ 1053 fps.
That is fairly close to the results of the Hornady Critical Duty 175 grain FlexLock @ 1092 fps.

As I reviewed the other Hornady offerings I suspected Accurate #5 as their propellant.

I remember shooting some AA #5 with 180gr FMJ.  I was only able to get 1060 fps with 9.0grs. (Target #16).
Very accurate load but a bit slow to compete with the Hornady load grain per grain.

The only powders that I'm aware of that would compete grain per grain are WSF, N340, or AutoComp. Maybe CFE Pistol.
