Just wondering.
Fiocchi 180 FMJ @ 1250 would be true 10mm performance if it makes its numbers...
I don't shoot much factory ammo, mostly in rental guns to try one out. Seems like every time I have a hard primer issue it's Fiocchi. It'll be interesting to see if their 10mm ammo is reliable.
I will! You mean they finally listened? :-X

You have made quite some inroads with 10mm ammo manufacturers.
I think more firearms help too. They label this one "revolver"... probably the latest revolver releases helped a ton!
I ordered FMJ and HP's tonight. We got past the recent heat wave and when the rain ceases I will have a bunch to run.
Sounds good..
I took the plunge and ordered some boxes of JHP & FMJ tonight too. Hopefully Fiocchi loads them with a decent JHP bullet. Seen them use Hornady's XTP's in other handgun calibers. I'll be really pleased if actual velocities come in close to advertised and they use XTPs...
I shot a couple hundred of the FMJ. Groups ok. Seemed to shoot pretty dirty. Didn't clock them so don't know speed.
I received my order today. It's raining again today and a 40% chance tomorrow... through August 7th >:(
If it's clear after work I'm trying! Might not be until Saturday morning though (20% chance).
These look like XTP's

Nice!
Interested to hear some chrono results.
Excellent!!
+1 on the eager for chrono results!
An thoughts on Fiocchi's brass quality (GFL headstamp)? from some searching, it sounds like it's ok for the most part, other than the normal few that have had a bad experience with it
Thanks
Ken
Nah, I don't think I have ever had any problems with Fiocchi brass, but I don't have a large enough sample to make any evaluations.
Thanks gandog!
I'm not too impressed with Fiocchi's offering for the money versus other stuff. I also had a couple that didn't set the primer off.
Fiocchi 180gr FMJTC
EAA Limited Pro 4.75" 1156, 1157, 1151, 1152, 1134 Average = 1150 FPS/529 LBS
EAA Super Match 6" 1203, 1185, 1203, 1179, 1185 Average = 1190.4 FPS/ 566 LBS
Fiocchi 180gr JHP (XTP)
EAA Limited Pro 4.75" 1179, 1167, 1180, 1167 Average = 1173.25 FPS/ 550 LBS
EAA Super Match 6" 1207, 1216, 1209, 1200, 1193 Average = 1205 FPS/ 580 LBS
Well that was a disappointment. Was hoping for 1250 as advertised.

Well, I was actually speaking about their brass as in reloading them. I don't use THEIR primers. What they use could be a game changer if they are unreliable. I just had no problems reusing their brass.
Good range report IC!
I will send a couple of the bad primer rounds to you with the pull-downs.

Certainly not "as advertised".... Bout the same as Hornidy's fps & energy (with suspect primers to boot). Wonder if others that have tried it encountered the primer problems too?
I had zero primer problems out of almost 200 rounds.
My order came in today. I'm nearly certain the JHP's that came in my order are not XTP.
They look like Montana Gold JHP. :(
Got a picture of the bullets?
I need to check my Limited Pro firing pin. The channel might be fouled giving light strikes.

The Fiocchi looks a lot like a Zero bullet.
200gr XTP on the left. 180gr Zero on the right.

I'll defer to the hand loaders on this one as 5Pins could very likely be correct.
I just knew the Fiocchi jhp I got weren't XTP.
Looking over the Fiocchi line at Midway it appears that they have two different lines of Hollow points. The XTP ones are labeled as XTP and the other as "Shooting Dynamics".
Yes, I would tend to agree that they are using the ZERO brand JHP's...Winchester's JHP's were also similar but haven't see any in a long time!
Well here is one of Andrew's ballistic gel tests of PBR's 180gr Zero JHP from 5 years ago. PBR had theirs humping along about 50fps faster but this test should provide a decent idea how this round would work in a SD application (he did include several layers of denim). Maybe at a slower velocity the jacket wouldn't be shed.

Definitely not as good as XTP but based on single test, looks like it would get the job done.
