Now that I have my Galco Belt Holster, any recommendations for a leather thumb break holster for the Rock Island Ultra FS HC?, would be nice to have something that would stay put given the need arises
There's a number of nice looking thumb breaks out there, just not exactly sure at this point
I have one thumb break holster. My requirements were cheap and able to order via Amazon prime. I don't recall the brand. It is for a Glock 20.
Based on current prices there I would probably order this one for my RIA: http://a.co/5v7HEJo
Thanks sqlbullet, will give it a look
How typical is that, only offered in right hand : (
Few more bucks...

they have this company on amazon Product # GF-110 AZLAL
I cannot recommend these holster any higher than I do. Quick shipping from Turkey. I ordered a holster on a friday had it in hand on the following tuesday.
Will look into it, Thanks!
Personally have no use for a thumb-break much preferring an open top with a tension screw. If the gun takes such a shock that it comes out it will be a moot point as I'll probably be dead. I use the DeSantis Speed Scabbard for almost all my revolvers and semis.

If you want the same design but with a thumb-break they have the Thumb Break Scabbard...has the thumb break and a tension screw...

They can be found in the $45.00 area in black or tan.

Thanks, I have several Desantis with the tension screws and really like them
Retention is critical.

I really wanna like leather. Leather is classy and elegant. It is svelte and feels great against the body. I carried my RIA HC on Sunday in a Galco summer comfort. That holster is right at 1 year old and I have used it maybe 20-30 times in the last year. But it is starting to get loose when not in my pants supported by the tension of my belt. And that means that I either have to wear my belt uncomfortably tight to keep tension on it in all positions, or it may become loose in certain movements. And this has been my experience with most leather holsters. Leather stretches, and even with tensioning devices, the leather will continue to stretch.
I very much favor kydex or it's variants these days. Kydex won't stretch. You can tension kydex for absolute retention.
Any kydex holster company's you like in a lot
Vedder is my go-to at this point. But I carry IWB and really like their light tuck. All my OWB are leather, and almost never get used, except for my cheap Glock 20 G&G thumb break.

and
JM Custom Kydex:

Are my current favorites. Neither are cheap and neither are fast. But either place knows how to make a secure comfortable holster. I also use a kydex holster from DSG for my H&K VP-9:

I'm not sure if they still make one for 1911 pistols.
Thanks Rick
