I have been reloading for the last 6 months. I have been doing 10mm and 223 and just purchased a Springfield TRP. I have the dies on the way (Redding Titanium Carbide 3 die set and a Redding Taper die). I also ordered 1000 Rainier LeadSafe Bullets 45 Caliber (451 Diameter) 230 Grain Plated Round Nose) and picked up 1 pound of IMR 800x. Online data shows
These are for plinking in the desert or at the indoor range.
Also if you guys wouldn't mind sharing your recipes, I'd appreciate it.
This is what I found on the Hodgdon website.
1'200 6.5 to 7.0 grains of IMR 800x
What are your recipes
It looks like some of you data was cut off in your post... ???
I am taking that this is a 45ACP cartridge, with IMR800X you are going to be between;
6.3 grains @ 817 fps 13,300 CUP
7.0 grains @ 900 fps 16,900 CUP
The second post matches the data that the Hodgdon2012 annual shows
800-X meters like Corn Flakes. If you plan to through/meter your charges you may want to use a different powder. If you plan to weigh each and every charge, go for it.
For my 45 ACPs I have found WST to be an excellent choice. Meters well and accuracy is outstanding.
Just did a little test with Ramshot True Blue a few weeks ago. Very, very fine ball powder and meters better than water.
200gr home cast LSWC 7.4gr TB, 25 yards, off bag, DW PM-7. Needs more testing, but showes reral promise, cept for the one flier.
