Title: limit on the number of times you re-chamber your carry ammo
Post by: Kenk on May 04 2018 02:20:54 PM MDT
Any is you have a limit on the number of times you re-chamber your carry ammo for cleaning purposes. I have not measured them for potential set back but limit mine to around 3 times
Thanks

Ken

I ride the slide to chamber for carry and never had a issue with bullet set back. The slide strips the round and chambers fully without hanging up.

The only real issue, for me, is setback. I don't unload/reload my carry ammo that often. I think it's more important to just shoot it and start with fresh every couple of months anyway. I think that's more important, especially with truck/car guns. I've had FTXs fail to cycle the slide if left in the truck too long.

I mark the rounds with a hash line ( sharpie) every time it gets loaded back in...
After about 4, I put it in a separate bucket.
This allows over time to shoot the exact round I carry and rotates the ammo too

I periodically shoot up my carry ammo.
