Title: Tanfoglio 10mm magazines
Post by: Smokee on May 03 2018 09:34:26 AM MDT
Where's the best place to pick up a spare magazine for a Tanfoglio Witness 1 10mm? Anything specific to know about different manufacturers or generations of magazines?
Thanks!

Just shoot for K10 stamped magazines.

I bought a Witness in 10mm in early 2009 and it came with a bad magazine.  I bought three more factory mags and all of them were bad as well.
I eventually sent the gun and four mags back to EAA and told them to replace the mags with good ones,  or convert the gun to 38 Super.  They opted to change the top end out with a 38 Super unit and sent me four good 38 Super mags.

The mags had a problem whereas the internal width of the body was too wide for 10mm and the rounds would bind up after about 8 were loaded.

I bought more 10mm mags a couple of years ago, and they were all good.....so the problem appears to be solved.

Mecgar mags are the best.

I ordered two from CDNN. I've got my fingers crossed that they are made by Meggar, but we'll see. As long as they work I'll be happy.

Mags arrived in factory EAA poly bags and are stamped K10 Made in Italy.

I noticed with the original magazine that when I loaded 14 the mag body expanded ever so slightly and didn't want to insert. So, I'll load lucky 13.

Mag springs seem overly strong compared to other mags I have, so at the risk of a spring I might experiment with reducing the spring until it feels "right" to me and then I'll see if it is reliable. At least it's an old school mag that disassembles easily, unlike some *Glock*.
