Pretty new to handloading for 10mm cartridge. Reading A LOT online/forums about max loads, max fps, energy/ft lbs. What I don't see is a lot about accuracy in the 10mm cartridge. What are some of your guys' favorite loads for accuracy, punching paper at the range? Any info would be great, Thanks!
Well, my all time favorite is the 175 grain Lyman cast TC over 10.2 or 10.4 grains o Blue Dot.
BE-86 is a nice powder to use and meters really well...
180 gr Xtreme heavy plated over 10.4 Blue Dot ....great accuracy
Ironic you guys mentioning 10.4grs Blue Dot. I loaded up a bunch of 11.0grs BD/180gr FMJ, accuracy was acceptable, no pressure signs in my Stock Gen4 G20. I came down a half grain 10.5, didn't get a chance to shoot this load yet. I'm loading a steady 1.260" OAL for everything, help alleviate some of the pressure associated with the 10mm round. The Glock feeds them 100% at this OAL.
Yes, the longer will function fine in my G20... But I mostly use 1.25 as it works in my other 10 too ( Sig 220 )
Don't see any pressure issues
Seems like the closer I get to 11gr's of BD, the under a 180gr XTP or HAP, the crapper my accuracy gets. Sticking at 10.4 to 10.5 works the best in my G20...for me at least
I've noted elsewhere that there's somthing "magical" about 10. 4gr of Blue Dot. ;D
Just gone done loading 100 rounds of 180 grain XTP's with 10.4 grains of blue dot! Anybody here ever shoot this load through a chrony with a standard barrel length Glock 20?
You will likely see 1160 fps - 1200 fps from the stock Glock 20 Factory barrels... :)
That's pretty decent! Thanks!
