Title: Scratched That Itch!
Post by: gandog56 on April 25 2018 04:10:01 PM MDT
I have always wanted a revolver in 10mm. Now that Ruger makes a Super Redhawk in 10mm, I HAD to have it. So I bid on one on Gunbroker. I bid his minimum starting bid, and was the only bidder! Waiting for my FFL guy to send all his information to the seller so I can get it transferred to me. I can hardly wait!

Isn't that kind of personal??

I'll put it this way. Buy it now price was $874.00. I didn't bid anywhere near that. But since I was the only bidder, I won.

Nice score!! That's a lot of gun for 10mm. I bet it's going to be pretty pleasant to shoot. Looking forward to hearing about it.

It has black rubber grips with wood side panels. It comes with silver scope rings and the gun is already drilled for a scope mount from the factory. I guess I need to be shopping for a silver pistol scope. Be good with my tired old eyes out at 50+ yards.

And...today I did order a nice silver 2X7 pistol scope to go with it.

I put a Burris Fastfire 3 on mine, however the dot covers a 6" bull at 50 yards. Need to spend more time on the bench rest range when it's not heavily populated. Sure is fun to shoot though.

Oh boy, I go tonight to go pick it up from my FFL guy, who only does his business evenings.
The scope awaits the mounting, but unfortunately in the next two days I have two doctor's appointments that will keep me from the range. I am afraid the first one will give me a shot of cortisone on my butt, and the second one is 65 miles away in Biloxi MS..

Got the gun, then added a silver 2X7 pistol scope to it. But apparently my picture web posting place is having problems and I can't seem to show it here. I provided a direct link that will probably work at the bottom. Anyways I got 9 more moon clips for it, and made up a box of pretty stiff 10mm reloads for it. I am going to use Hornady 180 grain HAP projectiles and Blue Dot powder. I think I will also make me up a box of .40 cal using the same bullets and see how they will work.

Nice revolver!

We expect a full report once you finally get to the range.

Finally, finally got to the range. Set up a target at 25 feet thinking new gun right out of the box, I slapped a scope on it, probably need to zero the scope. Imagine my shock when these were the very first six bullets I fired downrange. The flyer was MY fault, as it never repeated.

Fixed it to show.  The issue was that the URL was secure (HTTPS:// instead of HTTP://)

That's pretty strange since I pulled it off of my image board.

Not at all.

More and more websites are defaulting to the secure protocol over port 443.  It is just this forums software that won't support a URL that starts with https.  Luckily the provider will host the image over port 80/http.

Don't want it tp seem like I was ignoring you but I'm in a hospital. I can't remember what the brand is, and I am not home to check it. It wasn't am expensive one, I got it when it was on sale at The Sportsman's Guide.
