Title: Waiting!

While I'm waiting to have enough money for my Valor in 10mm, do any of you have knowledge on 450 SMC? Thinking of using for deer hunting this year if I don't have enough funds by then.

I know it is a 45 super with a small primer pocket for a thicker web.  Should be ballistically identical to the Super as far as a deer is concerned.  I haven't hunted with it.

I would use a similar model to 10mm for hunting with that round.  WFN cast bullet, heavy.  Two holes bleed more than one if you need to track it.  If you want an HP, stick with the XTP or maybe a gold dot.  OThers may open too fast and not punch through.

Wait for your shot and it will put meat in the freezer.

Thanks for the info, have you shot/hunted with the 45 super? And what modifications would I have to do for that? I have notice that there is far more options  for that then the 450 SMC. I'm slowly learning how to reload by watching a friend of mine. So soon I can start reloading my self.
