Title: Recoil spring for Stock 2
Post by: Patriot on February 18 2018 10:33:56 AM MST
I'm lost. For all of my full size Witness pistols over the years, I've purchased a 22 pound Wolff recoil spring. I tried one of mine in one of my new Stock 2 pistols. No go. Won't even rack. Same spring in my wonder finish full size works fine. I know the Stock 2 is a half inch shorter barrel, but it seems like the spring is too long and binding inside?

Don't they offer a shorter one for the non-longslide version?

I always purchase the 22 pound for "full size." Always figured the "long slide" was for the 6 6 inch barreled guns.

Either way. The "full size" doesn't work. At all. The compact spring would be too small.

Hmmm... What part number does the bag say?

I see these two:
X   49820
1
EAA WITNESS LONGSLIDE, XP RECOIL SPRING 20LB   7.89   7.89
X   49722
1
EAA WITNESS FULLSIZE, XP RECOIL SPRING 22LB   7.89   7.89

In the Longslide version they don't offer a 22lb. Maybe the 4.5" pistols take Fullsize?

Yeah, I always order the 49722. Works in my wonder finish pistols. Cannot even pull the slide back on my Stock 2. Makes no sense and I can't figure it out.

I would take it apart and try assembling again. I seem to recall an issue similar to this at some point.
