Looking at the pictures in the link; I can't tell what kind of JHP it is... From the side kinda looks like XTP but not so much when looking down the hollow point (to the right)...
I think the cavity looks larger than an XTP
I will pick one up to see what we have.
I received my order today. This hollow point at the very least looks pretty impressive and similar to an XTP with a bigger cavity.

Hey, Intercooler, tell us what velocity & group you get from that ammo. It's good being in contact again! jimb.
Will do. The next two days are stellar for weather. The only problem is the dentist wants to kill me on Wednesday! ;D
These grouped 1" for me at about 12 yards. If you do your part, so will they! I would have went for a longer distance if the range wasn't soup from all the rain past this distance.
EAA Limited Pro 4.75" 1131, 1137, 1146, 1150, 1145 Average 1141.8 FPS/521 LBS
EAA Super Match 6" 1173, 1162, 1153, 1179, 1181 Average 1169.6 FPS/ 547 LBS
Almost identical results to the FMJ version. The 6" gave a 5 FPS average higher and that's in the fudge factor. I would say what's inside is identical!
There FMJ is good range ammo forsure, just shot a box up last week for the brass that I need for reloading. They went about 1160 fps through my Colt Delta Elite. Just might have to check out there new JHPs.
Looks like a proprietary hollowpoint....maybe a combo between a Gold dot and XTP.
Anyone plan a gel test of this anytime soon?
I would gladly send some to someone that does the testing. I think we lost Chopinbloc to do any testing for us.

I'll test it.
What you got for a setup?

What you got for a setup?
This is my typical setup when I conduct a test is. Two blocks of Clear Ballistics Gel behind a PACT chronograph with inferred sky screens.
Normally I fire two rounds in bare gel and then two through heavy clothing. I can also align up to four blocks if I'm testing something that I expect to penetrate deeper, Like when I tested the Cutting Edge bullets.

I have some Hornady 10mm 175gr Critical Defence on its way right now and I just finished up some Double Tap testing yesterday.
Doesn't cost much more than the FMJ's. :))
I would love to see those results. I use the FMJ at the range almost exclusively.
5pins,
Would you be open to testing some rounds I could send? Let me know. Thanks!
Look what FedEx dropped off. ;D

super interested in the gel test. I know that you are busy 5 Pins. I will wait for the results with bated breath. I just hope it does not disappoint. :) :) :)
I was hoping to do this week but I may not be able to melt the blocks in time.
It's looking like it's going to be next week before I can shoot the gel. I did get a chance to shoot it off hand at 10 yards and it seems to shoot pretty well. I also had a chance to shout it over the chronograph and I'm coming up much less than the advertised 1164fps. luckily it's a 50 round box and I'm going to try it again before I shoot it in the gel. I really think I must have made a mistake.

Gel test is up.

Thanks for sharing your results...
Penetration & expansion looked decent. Velocity is a big miss as you point out.
I got a new Caldwell chronograph today and I was shooting different stuff just seeing how it would work. I decided to shoot five more rounds and see what I came up with. I got a five shot average of 1059fps. So, this ammo is definitely shooting lower In velocity then what is advertised and lower them what Intercooler reported. I'm thinking the factory changed the load with the latest imported stuff.
Interesting. I shoot the FMJ stuff all the time at the range. Guess I never would have considered using the S&B JHP for carry. Seems something like Sig would be a better choice. Wonder if they handle any differently - guess I could see as I have both.
