Well shucks! :o It seems the finish isn't what the other models have and it's showing some issues.
Come on Springfield with that XD! I hope it is good and not too late.
I have had to do that same exact thing on a bench to get my K100 freed in the past. Crappy feeling >:D
He said he had a magazine drop as well. Hard to suggest this as an option to someone.
The slide sticking on mine was caused by a divot that formed on the barrel where the cam rides. I have not shot it since polishing it out to see it is going to come back.
The video showed where the rotation of the barrel was hampering coming in and out of battery. This is just my opinion as I haven't tested any of the GP pistols.
I have to think this is related to the way the barrel rides on the rotation bearing or the bearing as it pivots.
About the magazine drops, this may be related to frame flexation during recoil causing the magazine to bounce off the catch.

What model do you have and issues you have come across?

P40. Have put 200 rounds of Sig 180gr fmj, a box of Amscor and a mag of Buffalo Bore 200 gr hardcast thru it.
Mine shot very low till I put a shorter CZ fiber optic sight on the front.
Slide locked open with one round left in the mags, fixed by taking the slide release notch in the followers down with a dremel.
Mag ejection - tensioning the mag release spring or crowding the mag in the magwell takes care of most of the self ejections with SIG ammo. Still drops with Buffalo Bore. Centered mag catch is the problem, no way to get more than the thickness of the mag body in engagement due to the mag catch dragging on the follower, ammo or spring as it passes by the mag catch window. Gotta wonder if this contact is the cause of the occasional failure to feed a round.
Slide got progressively less smooth to operate (for lack of a better term). It would eventually catch and not return to battery when sliding the slide forward slowly. I finally noticed a bulge on the barrel where the cam rides, it coincided with the point where the slide would no longer move forward without a bump. I removed the bulge and the slide is smooth again.
Damn! What fiber front and size did you go with on the front? My next trial I should have my front situation figured out for height. I'm thinking I might need a 5.5mm front to raise the elevation.

I had a stock 1mm fiber front sight off of a CZ PCR that I took in trade. It measured .03" lower that the stock GP front sight.
I see the sales representative was doing damage cotrol in the video comments.
Wow, that is a big disappointment. How can they even let it ship that way? I did have the mag drop issue but at least that was resolved. Have they not carried that forward on new guns?

Seems the majority of people have problems. I've only seen 2-3 positive reviews. That's not good.
The rep I chatted with awhile ago said the mag issues had been solved. I see the model they are selling now has a different number then the original one. Perhaps that was due to the changes to fix the problems they had.
This is the follow-up video he wouldn't make public. Probably catching heat from the GP/Eagle folks for showing the truth.
One positive in it all... look how short that brass throw is :P
I have two thoughts on this. One is the gun sounds like he is running it dry, I believe I typically run it a little wetter than that. Two is what ammo is he shooting? I know it likes it hot. My opinion.
It's not that. I experienced the same thing with my K100 with some ammos up and down. In the other video he oils the hell out of it. Mine has seemed to wear-in where I don't get the problem now. If I put ZQI 123gr NATO in there it will show it's ugly head! Their brass has a jagged edge that seems to lock up the rotation.
I can definitely see the 'likes some ammos'. I haven't bought any 10mm in years and I tend to load a bit warm. But hey, that is why I sold all my .40's :)
