Shot some Jag headstamp 180 FMJ today in my 29SF and experienced several split cases on what I believe to be new ammunition. That really upset me as I was hoping to use the once fired brass. I don't think I will be reloading this batch of brass. There's no use in tempting fate after a few split cases as new. I don't trust it now.
My hot reloads went without issue save two light strikes. Apparently the Glock doesn't like CCI magnum primers. I could put the heavier striker springs in, but they will not be getting a steady diet of this. The second strike did not work, but the Delta was happy to come out and eat the leftovers. I was struck by the marked increase in energy the loads were exhibiting on target with the Delta's slightly longer barrel. Full spins of the plate instead of a heavy rock. The Glock is not as pleasant to shoot as the DE. There is a whippy shock to the recoil impulse which I find happily absent in the 1911.
These were new factory rounds? What MFG and do you have any pictures/measurements of the bad ones?
I have the old cases and will mic them. The box...not so much. They were factory and new shells maybe a few years old. I'm a reloader of 10mm, not a purchaser. I'm going to look and see if I have another box laying around.
Who was the MFG?
Jag is generally considered to be high quality brass. I am curious about the mfg as well.
Sorry I seem to be at a loss for the box. It may have gotten beaten up and I trashed it. The rounds were held in black plastic caliber specific tray. Found a picture on the web... Precision One. That's the stuff. Some of my cases are tarnished a bit but dang.
I measured two cases that had split and found .432-.435 at the area of splitting. Some of the cases have fingerprints and a decent amount of tarnish. This was range ammo from some indoor range.
ETA
I just fired some 17 rounds of that ammo in night practice with a lone Wolf extended barrel and found no splits. Go figure?

Supposedly Glock (17) chambers are larger than SAAMI spec. They did that so dirty and corroded ammo (during a war) can still function in the gun. I do not know if they do that with all their barrels and calibers. Larger chambers can make brittle/hard brass cases crack.
Some of the powders coming from Europe are unstable, start to degrade, and release gasses which weaken the brass. I have had some 5744 and 2495 powder do that. Those are both from Accurate and they are both rifle powder, not pistol powder, but I used the 5744 in my 454 Cassull revolver loads. The 2495 powder was made in Belgium and the 5744 was made in either Chekoslovakia or Croatia (something that starts with a "C").
.
I was unable to make this happen again in another factory 29 barrel. Go figure. My LW barrel is definitely tight. It gives all kinds of complaints about Georgia Arms. Too long and too sloppy.
