Would like to get some heavy cast bullets in the 200-220 grain range for loading. Either commercial cast or a mold...
Was just wondering what everyone was using and if a gas checked bullet is necessary for 1200+- fps loads...
Thanks...Bob
There are some great molds out there with some custom molds. You don't have to have a gas check with quality lube and bullet fit and alloy being harder than pure lead.
I have a RCBS 200 grain truncated cone which has a slight SWC shoulder they cast about 208 from clip-on-wheel weights. While it doesn't have a large MEPLAT (0.2350") it is accurate and hits hard and works like Keith Style and feeds reliably. I'm using White Label Carnauba Red Lube http://lsstuff.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=11 (http://lsstuff.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=11)

Have this mold:

I have the RG version that has pins for WFN (198 grain) or HP (180 grain). My favorite cast bullet for 10mm.
