Title: SR1911 RDS mount
Post by: Rick R on December 10 2017 02:00:01 PM MST
At 58 yoa I'm beginning to make plans for when I get old.  :P

I added a Burris Fastfire mount with my Vortex Venom to the SR1911

At the range today my groups were @ 3" at 25 yards but 32 degree temperatures and a breeze probably weren't helping.  I was wishing I'd brought some hot cocoa and a blanket.
As an added bonus the added weight halved the distance ejected brass traveled.  And the gun works in the Milt Sparks pancake holster I carry my 1911s in.

I may not have to shoot in bifocals after all.

Hey Rick R, where can I get one of those Burris Fastfire mounts?  What is the part number?  So far I can only find the one for the Novak cut, but not the Bomar cut.  Thanks.

I ordered the mount from Brownell's

https://www.brownells.com/aspx/search/productdetail.aspx?sid=51594&pid=41850

It is the Kimber / Bomar mount.
