Title: Any interest in Grand Power adjustable rear sight?
Post by: Intercooler on December 04 2017 04:30:40 PM MST
I have been on a mission with this one! My K100 shot 1" low even with the stock sights. When I switched to fiber-optic, that went to 2"! I emailed GP direct to get the dovetail drawing and they come through.

One of my friends with a MK7 is interested in having one made for his while my slide is there getting the first test-fitting. Would anyone be interested in one? Can someone check the P40 cut and see if it's the same?

The only MFG that would work with me on this was Kensights. This is what they suggested to cut it down from 12.5mm to 10.5mm and change the 65 degree angle to 40 degree.

I am interested as long as the P40 has the same dimensions

Can someone measure their rear sight or dovetail versus the drawing?

I can do it this evening, I still have the original.

I think they all use the same cut except the Xcal which gets the Eliason sight.

So on my old GP40 rear sight I get:

Width of sight 14.98mm
Rear sight front to back 17.12
Rear sight notch front to back 10.01

I can't think of a way to measure the angle offhand. However it does not appear to be the same.

Does your lower portion of the cut measure near 10.5mm?

No, that was the 14.88 measurement.

Shucks. It uses a different sight  then.

Here is a contact for Kensight (only one that was willing to work on the project). You can talk with her about sending your slide in as well for a fitting.

This project didn't pan out. I would end up needing a much taller sight for the front and nothing out there to remedy this. The slide is shipping back today.
