Title: Shell Shock NAS3 Casings
Post by: Intercooler on November 19 2017 06:09:19 AM MST
Any thoughts on these? I know SwampFox was wanting to put a Steel ring inside brass to push 10mm even harder. Does any of the technical aspects of it make it a cut above Brass?

The site says it can take 65,000 psi... The only have 9mm though.

Yup. That's it so far. I think that's cheaper than Starline?

Would a compensator be necessary to keep the gun from getting destroyed if 10mm could be loaded up to 65,000 psi? Our would that require a specially built pistol? Those pressure are up with 460 S&W Magnum

This casing line was directed more at competition shooters.  My dislikes are that it is a two piece constructed casing using dissimilar metals and requires special loading dies.  The Aluminum base can be colored by anodized process for easier recognition by the owners.   The upper section is stainless steel which could work harden over uses and leave the bullet less tension to secure it in place.
All in all, there is plenty of new and used brass to choose from for the handloading needs.  Especially chambered in the 9mm which every law enforcement accross the country is practicing with.

It's a NO for me!

BTW, those who use the wet method of brass cleaning with various chemicals may want to think about dry methods for these... ???
