It's neat for sure. Now the World knows how and what it is plus
Doesn't look like solid wood but particle board
A safe secures guns. That's where I think people get their hands on things they shouldn't
In a fire it's starter wood!
I would view it as a great place to store items you just want well hidden, but not secured.
My wife and I were discussing this over the weekend. She has a bunch of "costume" jewelry. No single piece is expensive. Most of it was probably less than $20, with lots of the stuff found at discount for less than 5.
But, when you have acquired several hundred or even thousand over 20 years, that is a LOT of money. And it is just the kinda stuff kids would take. This bookshelf would be a great way to hide it but still have it plenty accessible.
Would be good for a gun to have fast access to. But would not store all my guns in it.
I like this idea best...http://bedgunsafe.com/ (http://bedgunsafe.com/)

I already keep a ton of stuff under my bed. Mostly wrapping paper, and cob-webs. Where would I put those? :P
Kept waiting for those book shelves to swing around, opening up a tunnel to some under ground cavern! :) Been watching too many old movies!
I like the bedsafe idea. The way things are going today something like that might be our best bet.
The way things are going you may want to consider clandestinely buying a cargo container and burying it in your back yard. Access will be really hard, but unless they come with a backhoe and dig up every yard, you will still have a cache of guns.
I agree, its hidden, NOT secured...
I LOVE the ingenuity but personally would NEVER fill it...I do LOVE the idea for a hand gun or two. Maybe a rifle, Flash lights and spare cell phone and a shotgun too. QUICK access where hidden is preferred to secure.
Back when I was single, I built my bed frame similar to the picture. Back then, the ''collection'' was small and I was OK with hidden over secure... Now a days I'll take secure behind steel thank you... :o ;D
CW
I agree with CW. Thick steel with fire resistant liners. My safe is rated for an hour at 1200 degrees.
Cool idea. The style/appearance leaves much to be desired, but hats off to some beautiful engineering.
