Title: The 9x25 Dillon was created for what?

I heard it was for a competition of some kind. I was wondering if this is where the 357sig can't cut it.

Yes, the 9x25 was used in competition by some of the great shooters of the time...The 9x25 was used by several notable IPSC shooters, such as Rob Leatham, Armt Myhre and Michael Voigt.
The 38 Super was being way overloaded back then, but later there was a change to the rules and power factor...

I suggest reading this over; http://10mm-firearms.com/wildcats/welcome-mr-randy-shelley-designer-of-the-9x25dillon-cartridge/msg45768/#msg45768 (http://10mm-firearms.com/wildcats/welcome-mr-randy-shelley-designer-of-the-9x25dillon-cartridge/msg45768/#msg45768)

Also you can see them in action in this video...

9x25 can be a good time to shoot, the amount loads that you can work up on it are crazy.
