Title: G20 recoil spring
Post by: MIAMIbaseballer on December 09 2012 08:30:01 AM MST
I would like to get a heavier recoil spring for my G20. I reload most of the ammo that goes through it, but regardless, everything is hot (reloads or Buffalo Bore or Underwood). All my research says go with a 22lb spring...?

I was wondering what brand or website do you recommend getting it from.... Is there a difference?

Thanks

I've shot really light loaded .40S&W through mine with a 24lb recoil spring, and never had an issue with ejection. The casings of most .40 will land about a foot away, but no issues with actually getting them out.  I just say that because I think the 24lb spring isn't too strong and should help all the way up to nuclear loads, at least a tad more than the 22lb will.

After researching, the ISMI brand is what I got, but I can't speak for the others.

Been with 21 and 22... not much differance, at least that I noticed. I stuck with 22 lbs. I too use IMSI

I have a 22lb spring in mine and i think i might have to go heavier. my G20 really launches brass especially with hot underwood.
